An historic painting of General Washington at Christ Church, Easter Sunday, 1795, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by artist Jean Leon Gerome Ferris, 1908.

The church building in this painting is often incorrectly identified as the Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The confusion arises from both churches being named Christ Church and the fact that George Washington did attend services at both of the churches. Both of these historic churches are still standing, are still being used as a churches and both are open to visitors.
