Joseph Eckert, a leading citizen of Franklin County, Mo., and ex-surveyor of that county, was born in Baden, Germany, October 16, 1855, and is the son of Joseph and Josephine (Krol) Eckert. He then returned to his profession as civil engineer, and is engaged at that at the present time. In 1878 he married Miss Maggie Tremmel, a native of Union Township, Franklin Co., Mo., born in 1862, and the daughter of George and Barbara Tremmel. To their union four children have been born.
