The borough of Glen Campbell was founded in 1889 as a coal mining town in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. At its peak, more than sixty businesses including numerous lumber mills operated in the area. By 1900, the population peaked at 1,628. As the coal mines and lumber mills ceased operation and businesses closed, the population rapidly declined. The 1930 census recorded a population of 588; the 2010 census count showed 245 persons. In addition to the volunteer fire department, the Glen Campbell Post Office and a Baptist Church continue to operate in the community.

In 1971, the singer Glen Campbell visited the town which shared his name. Campbell afterward appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson where he proudly displayed an early bank note from the First National Bank of Glen Campbell.

The Borough of Glen Campbell is in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
