The Emigrants Farewell, Abschied Der Auswanderer, vintage print
A vintage print: The Emigrants Farewell, Abschied Der Auswanderer
Immigration to America often meant saying goodbye to family and friends, knowing that it was unlikely that you would ever see them again. Due to the German title, this scene was likely meant to portray a family leaving Germany but a similar scene would have occurred as immigrants left any city, town or village in any nation. This print was originally published by S. Zickel, New York, 1883.
