New York Battery Park and Castle Garden, vintage, historic photograph

In this vintage photo:

Battery Park and the former Castle Garden immigration center as seen from the harbor side. Castle Garden is the round building at the left. Immigration would have been shifted to Barge Office and Ellis Island by the time this photo was taken. After immigration had moved away from Castle Garden, the building was remodeled and converted to the New York City Aquarium which opened on December 10, 1896.

This photo is by Detroit Publishing Co., and dates from between 1895 and 1910.
