Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Abraham Lincoln on the day of the Gettysburg Address, 1863, historic photo
An historic photo view of Abraham Lincoln at the Gettysburg Battleground, to deliver his Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863 at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Lincoln can be seen in this photo, just to the right of the flag, about three rows from the top, facing toward the photographer, not wearing his hat, facing slightly downward. See a closeup view of Lincoln from this photo below.
Detail showing the location of Lincoln in the previous photo. It is not known who the photographer was and it is also not known if this photo was recorded before the speech, during the speech, or after the speech. Since the crowd is largely facing toward Lincoln, it is likely that this photo was recorded during the speech. This photo taken on November 19, 1863 is the only known photo of Lincoln at Gettysburg.
