Born January 1, 1735 [December 21, 1734 old style] at Boston, Massachusetts; died May 10, 1818 at Boston, Massachusetts, age 83.
Paul Revere was a well known Boston silversmith before the Revolutionary War. His attempt to warn of the approach of British forces was immortalized in the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, Paul Revere's Ride.
The Old Granary Burial Ground of Boston contains not only the grave of Paul Revere, but also that of John Hancock, Samuel Adams and those of the Boston Massacre as well as many other noted individuals.
