Atlanta, Georgia, Railroad Depot, Federal Army Wagon Train, 1864, historic photo
An historic photo view of the Railroad Depot at Atlanta, Georgia just after the fall of Atlanta which occurred on September 2, 1864 during William Sherman's March to the Sea. Note the long line of covered wagons which are Federal Army supply wagons. The Union Army burned the Railroad Depot as Sherman's troops departed Atlanta on November 15, 1864. This photo was taken sometime between September and mid November, 1864.
