Thomas K. Riddick, attorney at law at Somerville, Tenn., was born in Fayette County, July 9, 1851, and is the son of Dr. E. G. and Harriet A. (Mayo) Riddick, natives of North Carolina. Our subject was raised on a farm and educated at Macon Masonic College, at Macon, Fayette Co., Tenn., where he graduated in 1868 and taught school until 1870, when he commenced the study of law and graduated in his profession at the Cumberland University, at Lebanon, Tenn., and was licensed to practice in 1872. Mr. Riddick then went to Augusta, Ark., and practiced law until 1873, when he returned to Tennessee and located at Somerville where he has since been most successfully engaged in his profession. October 24, 1882, he married Amelia, daughter of Joel L. and Bettie (Perry) Pulliam, of Fayette County, and they have had three children: Lucy T., Joel P. and Harriet M.; Joel P. died December 26, 1884. Mr. and Mrs. Riddick are members of the Methodist Church, and in politics he is a Democrat. He is a self-made man, having commenced with no other capital than a fine education and marked ability.
