WILLIAM ALDERSON, farmer, post office Mt. Lebanon, was born at Mt. Washington, Pa., in 1837, a son of Thomas Alderson, who came from Yorkshire, England, to America about 1831. He married Jane Parker, who bore him eleven children, seven of whom are living, William being the eldest son. Thomas was a miner, an avocation he followed in America for a number of years. Later in life he was engaged in farming and hotel-keeping for thirty years on his present place, and on the whole had a successful business career. William Alderson has been a farmer all his life, and for the past thirty years has resided on his present place. He was married, in 1876, to Annie Vero, daughter of Joseph and Phoebe E. Vero, and seven children (six of whom are living) were born to them: James William, Jane Lizzie, Margaret F., Thomas P., Harry Lawrence, Annie (deceased) and Edith Mabel. Mr. Alderson is a democrat, has held many positions of trust in Scott township, and has served as school director for several years, giving entire satisfaction.
