JOSEPH C. PARTRIDGE, farmer, post office North Star, is a grandson of Thomas Partridge, a native of Maryland. Thomas married Almira Walker, of this county, who bore him five children. He was a farmer and purchased two hundred acres of land, a part of which is now owned by our subject. Joseph, the eldest son of Thomas, born in 1807, married Mary, daughter, of George Morrison, of Washington county, Pa., and became the father of seven children, all of whom are living: Thomas (in Iowa), Mary, Anna, Rachel and Joseph C., William and Sarah. Joseph, at the death of his father, came into possession of the farm, which he owned at the time of his death. The family are members of the Presbyterian Church, and are democrats.
