Below is a family biography included in the History of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania published in 1889 by A. Warner & Co.   These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. JOHN G. GRAHAM, farmer, post office Stewart’s Station, was born in Penn township, Westmoreland county, Pa., in 1833, a son of William and Nancy (McChesney) Graham. William was a brother of Christopher, and died here in 1883, aged eighty-two years. His wife, born in Ireland, died at the same age, in 1885. With the exception of one year spent in Westmoreland county, William Graham lived from 1830 in Patton. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; politically a democrat. John G. Graham has always been a hard worker, and had little opportunity for education, but is giving his children the benefit of the best educational institutions. He married, in 1862, Susannah Errett, born in Hempfield, Westmoreland county, a daughter of Adam and Sarah (Ashbaugh) Errett, of German descent, former a wealthy farmer. In 1852 Mr. Graham purchased fifty acres of land, and ten years later erected the house wherein he resides. Mr. Graham also owns property in North Huntingdon, Hempfield and Penn townships, Westmoreland county. The family comprises eight children, most of whom attend the U. P. Church at Stewart’s Station. Their names are as follows: Sarah Agnes (deceased, wife of William Naser, a resident of Wall’s Station; she died June 10, 1888, leaving three little boys: Elmer George, Edgar Milo and William Charles), Mary Martha Jane, Adam Errett, Elizabeth Elenor Leonora, James Michael, Annie Alice, David John and William Brown. Mr. Graham is a democrat.
