A. E. BILLINGSLEY, farmer; P. O. Covington. A. E. Billingsley, born in Fayette Co., Penn., in the year 1819, is a brother of Thomas Billingsley, whose biography appears in this work. He was raised upon a farm, and in early life learned the carpenter’s trade, following the business for twenty years. In 1862, he enlisted in 83d O. V. I.; was commissioned First Lieutenant; was in the battle of Vicksburg, and in several other engagements. In 1863, he resigned on account of ill health contracted in the service; since that time, has been engaged in farming. He married Miss M. E., a daughter of Amos Tucker, a native of New Jersey. They had eight children, five living— Jennie, Hattie M., Mary A., John A. and Lida A.
