Orlando V. Wager, secretary of the Newton County Co-operative Association, Neosho, Mo., was born in De Pere, Brown Co., Wis., August 29, 1855. His father, Eugene Wager, was a native of Switzerland, and of German-French extraction. His mother, whose maiden name was Emaline Snider, was a native of New York. Eugene Wager, is a miller by occupation, and at the present time is a large mill owner in Arkansas. His son, Orlando V., who is the fourth of a family of eight children now living, remained in his native State until fifteen years of age, when he removed to Arkansas. He has been reared with mercantile experience, and has followed commercial trade thus far through life. In November, 1885, he came to this county and became connected with the above named institution, holding the position of secretary of the same. In 1880 he chose for his life’s companion Miss Mira H. Heanell, a daughter of Lemuel B. Heanell, one of Newton County’s old and honored citizens. Mr. and Mrs. Wager are the parents of two children: Fred A. and Lemuel E.
