Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 1 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1885. These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. EVERARD P. JACOB was born in Caldwell County, Ky., May 7, 1811. His parents, Arnold and Cynthia (Spriggs) Jacob, were natives of Maryland and Virginia respectively. Of their eight children, four are now living: Mrs. Elvira Patterson, Everard P., Mrs. Adelia J. Enders and Thaddeus. E. P., the subject of this sketch, was reared a farmer boy, and during his residence in Caldwell and Lyon Counties, his attention was devoted to farming pursuits, which have also been his occupation since coming to McCracken County, in 1856. He has at present farm property to the extent of 346 acres, and gives special attention to short-horn cattle and thoroughbred horses of the Norman breed. He married Miss Emma White, a daughter of George White, an old and respected farmer of Caldwell County. Of this union three children are now living: Mrs. Cynthia A. Randle, Orlando E. and Richard W.
