P. VIGLINI, President of the German Bank, is a native of Richmond, Va., and was born November 26, 1841. He is a son of J. B. and Catherine (Park) Viglini, natives of Virginia and Ireland. His grandfather Viglini was born in Italy. Subject’s father came to Louisville about 1855, and was a hatter by trade. The subject was reared in Richmond, Va., and at the age of seventeen went in the office of A. Bland, a broker, as clerk; then with the Louisville Banking Company, as teller. In 1869 he was principal originator of the German Bank, and was its cashier; Henry Deppen, president. Mr. Deppen died in 1879, when he succeeded him as president. The bank is the largest deposit banking institution in the city, compared with the amount of its capital ($200,000), and has a surplus of $62,000. Its deposits average over $1,500,000 per annum. He was married, in 1868, to Miss Lillie T. Deppen, daughter of Mr. Henry Deppen.
