STEEVE, HENRY, farmer, Section 22; born in 1834, in Hanover, Germany. His education was received in a private school. Came to America when twenty-one years of age, finding a home in Cleveland, Ohio, where he remained until 1864; he then moved to Cook county, Illinois, and in 1869 came to Page county, Iowa. Was married to Miss Mary Bender, a native of Germany, in 1855, by whom he is the father of twelve children: Elizabeth, Ellenora, John, William, Frederick, Louis, Henry, George, Mary, Joseph, Edward and Martin. Of these all are at home except Elizabeth, who is married. Mr. Steeve has held various offices of trust, among them those of township trustee and school director. Owns 640 acres of land, all improved.
