APSLEY, McH. B., merchant and postmaster; residence, Kingston; P. O. Fairweather; was born in New London, Ralls county, Mo., in 1838; was married to Miss Frances Dell in 1865. She was born in Maryland in 1831; came to Kingston, Adams county, Ill., in 1870. They have three children: William L., Margret, and Lulu. Mr. A. served as a soldier in the 8th Ill. Cav.; was wounded five times, two of them being shell wounds. Is a member of the Baptist church, and of Kingston Lodge 266, A. F. and A. M. Mrs. A. is a member of the M. E. church. He commenced business, in Kingston, in 1871, keeping a dry goods, boot and shoe, and grocery store; carries stock to the amount of $4,500. Politically, is a Republican.
