OMER, JACOB retired farmer; sec. 34; P. O. Clayton; (son of Peter and Rebecca Omer, of Kentucky). He was born in the same State, March 23, 1820; came west, and settled in Clayton township in 1851, He was married April 10, 1845, to Mary J. Farmer. She was born in Indiana, Nov. 30, 1823. Have two children living: Alexander, born March 5, 1850, and Anna, born Aug. 22, 1853; two dead: William, born Jan. 21, 1846, died Feb. 27, 1857; Elizabeth, born April 24, 1857; died Aug. 13, 1878. Mr. and Mrs. O. are members of the M. E. church; began life with no capital but willing hands, now owns 200 acres of land in Clayton township.
