A vintage postcard of Stratford Hall, south view, Westmoreland County, Virginia. Stratford Hall was the home to four generations of the Lee family and is the boyhood home of two of the signers of the Declaration of Independence: Richard Henry Lee (1732-1794) and Francis Lightfoot Lee (1734-1797). General Robert E. Lee was also born here on January 19, 1807. The home is now a National Historic Landmark and open to the public for tours. Stratford Hall is located six miles northwest of Montross in northeast Virginia.
