Weston, West Virginia, General Stonewall Jackson's Boyhood Home, historic photo

An historic photo view of the Boyhood Home of General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, near Weston, West Virginia (then Virginia). Born at Clarksburg, West Virginia (then Virginia) on January 21, 1824, Jackson was left an orphan after the death of his father in 1826 and his mother in 1831, he moved to live with his Uncle Cummins Jackson. This photo shows Cummins Jackson's house at the left and the mill he operated as Jackson's Mill which is the building at the right next to the West Fork River near Weston in Lewis County, West Virginia (then Virginia). The Mill is still standing but the home and other buildings are now gone. This photo is from February 25, 1909.

Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, born January 21, 1824, Clarksburg, West Virginia (then Virginia); died May 10, 1863, Guinea Station, Virginia, age 39, of pneumonia as the result of friendly fire wounds received at the Battle of Chancellorsville on May 2, 1863.
