A 1902 photo that purports to be of General Ulysses S. Grant at City Point, Virginia. It is however a photo composite constructed from three different original photos. The head and hat of General Grant is from an 1864 photo of General Grant at his headquarters in Cold Harbor, Virginia. The horse and the body of the rider is from an 1864 photo of Major General Alexander McDowell McCook. The background is of a group of Confederate soldiers captured at the Battle of Fisher's Hill which was fought near Strasburg, Virginia on September 21-22, 1864. This photo composite was copyrighted in 1902 by Levin C. Handy.
