An historic photo view of the McLean House at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. It was in the parlor of this house on April 9, 1865 that General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant thus ending the major engagements of the American Civil War. This photo was taken in April, 1865 within days of the surrender. The McLean family is seen seated on the steps of the home.
