The graves and tombstone of Almanzo and Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the well known and loved Little House book series. The Wilder's left their home in De Smet, South Dakota on July 17, 1894 and arrived in Mansfield, Missouri on August 30, 1894. Shortly after their arrival, they purchased the farm land they named Rocky Ridge Farm just outside of Mansfield where they eventually built a farm house. Between the ages of 60 and 71, Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote each of the books in the Little House book series while living here on Rocky Ridge Farm.

Almanzo died here on October 23, 1949 at the age of 92. Laura continued to live alone in the farm house until she died here on February 10, 1957, just three days after her 90th birthday. Both Almanzo and Laura are buried in the Mansfield Cemetery, at Mansfield, Missouri. Their only child who survived childhood, Rose Wilder Lane, is buried next to them. Laura and Almanzo also had a son, born in 1892, who lived only a few days. He is buried in the cemetery at their former home in De Smet, South Dakota.

A new museum on the Rocky Ridge Farm opened in the Spring of 2016, dedicated to preserving the history of the homes and presenting the lives of Almanzo and Laura Ingalls Wilder and their daughter, Rose Wilder Lane.
