A historic photo view of Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, Kansas in 1867. Just four years earlier, most of Lawrence had been burned in a raid on August 21, 1863 by William Clarke Quantrill and a large force of guerrilla fighters sympathetic to the Confederacy.
