Charley A. Stainback, attorney at law at Somerville, was born in Fayette County, Tenn., August 27, 1851, and is the son of Ashley D. and Katharine E. (Palmer) Stainback, who were natives of Virginia. Our subject was raised and educated on a farm. In 1870 he commenced the study of law under T. A. Blare, of Iuka, Miss., and in 1871 he entered the Cumberland University at Lebanon, Tenn., and graduated in law there in 1872; then located in Somerville, where he has since given his time to professional duties, and has rapidly built up an extensive practice, and is well known as a lawyer. In 1876 he married Laura Blakeley, daughter of Drewry and Mary E. (Morgan) Blakeley, of Arkansas. Four sons have blessed this union: Ashley D., Charles A., Jr., Blakeley and Ingram M. Mr. Stainback is an ardent Democrat, and is deeply interested in the success of his party. He stands well in the community, and is an enterprising citizen and a successful lawyer.
