WILLIAM ROSS CLENDENNING, farmer, post office Bakerstown, was born on his father’s farm in 1826, son of Charles Clendenning (see his sketch). He received his education in West Deer township and at Bakerstown, beginning work for himself in 1858. He was then married to Margaret G., daughter of George and Eliza (Karnes) Hazelett, natives of Tarentum, Pa. Her father died Oct. 18, 1870, and her mother Oct. 4, 1869. Mrs. Clendenning was educated at Tarentum and Allegheny City. Mr. and Mrs. Clendenning have one child, Mary Ellen. The family are members of Bakerstown Presbyterian Church. Mr. Clendenning is a large farmer in the township, and is a republican.
