ROBERT M. GIBSON, merchant, post office Gibsonia, is a son of Charles, Sr., and Elizabeth (Logue) Gibson, and was born in Richland in 1845. He was educated at the public schools of the township and Jefferson College, of Washington county. After completing his education he engaged in farming for a number of years, and in 1876 was chosen freight and station agent on the P. & W. R. R. at Gibsonia, which he held for seven years. In 1879 he engaged in general mercantile business at his present stand, and in 1880 was appointed postmaster, which office he still holds. In 1881 he married Annie M. Owens, daughter of John and Nancy Owens, of Pine township. By her he has two children — Elizabeth Logue and Nancy; also has two children by a former marriage — Charles E. and Maggie. Mr. Gibson and family are members of the Presbyterian Church at Bakerstown.
