JOHN SCHINDEHEETLE, post office McKee’s Rocks, was born in Germany in 1850, and, coming to this country in 1872, settled in Allegheny county. He is a son of Goetlieb and Martha Schindeheetle, former of whom died in Germany in 1866, at the age of fifty years, and latter in 1880, at the age of sixty-five years. They were members of the G. P. Church. Of their seven children, five are living, all in this county. John married, March 5, 1877, Mary E., daughter of William H. and Mary Miller, of this county, and they have been blessed with five children: Annie, George J., Henry W., William H. and Henry F. Mrs. Schindeheetle was born in 1857, and her parents are living in this county; her father was fifty-six years old in January, 1888, and her mother fifty-four in July, same year. John Schindeheetle learned the shoe maker’s trade, which he followed fifteen years. He worked in a rolling-mill about five years, and for the past six years has been keeping hotel, first at Saw-Mill run, and since at the village of Chartiers, at which place he owns a good hotel property.
