Beers & Co. in 1880.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. B. E. CASSEL, farmer; P. O. North Clayton. B. E. Cassel was born in Miami Co., near Troy; his early life was spent upon a farm, until he was 19 years of age; he then enlisted in the 147th O. V. I., for four months, afterward enlisted in the 194th O. V. I., for one year, and went forward to battle for his country; he was not engaged in any battle, but had to do a great deal of hard marching. He was twice married, first with Miss Martha, a daughter of George Howard, whose biography appears in this work; they had one child, Mizpah. His second marriage was with a daughter of Emmanuel Blickenstaff, deceased; Mr. Cassel has a nice farm of 26 acres, with good improvements, a short distance north of North Clayton.
