Dr. I. S. Wilson, secretary and general manager of Spring River Lumber Company, Cedar Gap, Wright Co., Mo., was born in Belmont County, Ohio, in 1845, and attained his growth on the farm. After graduating he enlisted in the Federal service, as surgeon in Brown’s staff, in March, 1865. He remained in the employ of the Government until 1871, when he returned to Ohio. He resided for a year and a half in Illinois, Henderson County, and came to Missouri in 1873. Dr. Wilson was married in Waldo to Miss Naomi Dixon, of Webster County, born in 1862 (now deceased), and one child (also dead) was the result of this union. His parents, Avery and Sarah (Hayes) Wilson, were both natives of Belmont County, Ohio, and both born in the year 1818. Avery Wilson was a farmer by occupation. He is now deceased.
