Henry Coday, druggist at Mansfield, Mo., and a native of Wright County, was born June 2, 1848, his parents being Samuel and Mary J. (Binkley) Coday. [See sketch of Samuel Coday.] He was reared on the farm on which his father is at present residing, and attended school in Hartville for some time after he was grown. From 1873 to 1875 he was in St. Louis and Lebanon, Mo., but since the latter date has resided almost constantly in Wright County. Previous to that time, however, he traveled in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Illinois and Kansas, and was in business in Hartville until the fall of 1881, since which time he has been engaged in selling drugs in Mansfield, and has built up a large and lucrative trade. His stock is valued at from $1,200 to $1,500, and he has one of the handsomest residences in Mansfield, all of which he has earned by his own industry and good management. In 1883 he was married to Miss Lizzie Chapman, who was born in Crawford County, Mo., in 1859, and by her he is the father of two children, Winfield Scott and Blanche. Mr. Coday is a Democrat in his political views.
