Below is a family biography included in The History of Osage County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1889.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Christian Heyer, a farmer and stock-raiser of Jefferson Township, Osage County, resides seventeen miles southeast of Linn. He was born in Prussia in 1832, and was one of the family of three children born to Henry and Dorothea (Lumme) Heyer, both natives of Prussia. Henry Heyer was born in 1806, and died in the country of his birth in 1862. His wife was born about 1807, and immigrated to this country with her son, stopping in Osage County, Mo., where she died in 1879. Christian Heyer came to the United States in 1857, landing in St. Louis, Mo., on July 4, of that year, and later in the same year he went to Gasconade County, where he spent the following year; he then located in Osage County, where he has ever since resided. He has seventy acres of the farm of 270 which he owns under cultivation and well improved, and is an enterprising and industrious farmer. June 12, 1853, he married Louisa Nordhausen, who was born in Prussia, March 22, 1829, and is a daughter of Elias and Mary Nordhausen, both of whom died in their native land. Mr. and Mrs. Heyer are the parents of the following children, viz.: Louisa, wife of Henry Lehnhoff; Christian; Henrietta, wife of Fritz Lehnhoff; Mary, wife of Thomas Loyd; Margaret, wife of Johnson Loyd; John, Fritz (deceased), Caroline, wife of Allen Griffith; Henry and Julianna. In politics Mr. Heyer is a Republican. He and wife are members of the Missionary Baptist Church, in which they take an active part.
