William W. Pacey, dealer in agricultural implements, was born in Geneva, Ontario Co., N. Y., February 22, 1843. His parents, Thomas and Maria (Simpson) Pacey, natives of England, after coming to the United States were married, and settled first in New York, and then in Wisconsin, where the subject of this sketch was principally reared. Our subject enlisted first in the Thirty-fourth Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and afterward in the One Hundred and Fifty-third Illinois Infantry, serving until the close of the war. In 1867 he came to Newton County and learned the trade of plastering and bricklaying, which he followed chiefly until he engaged in his present business, and in connection with the same he also handles sewing machines, etc. In 1870 Mr. Pacey married Miss Sarah F. Dolby, a native of Wisconsin, and to this union were born six children: Cora A., Estella, Ira, Roxie, Bertha and Clara W.
