Rylen B. Rudy, cigar manufacturer at Neosho, Mo., was born in Edgar Co., Ill., February 24, 1861, and is the son of P. C. and V. E. (Barnett) Rudy, both natives of Kentucky. The father followed farming for many years, and in 1878 he came to Newton County, Mo., but afterward returned to Illinois, and at present he and his wife have charge of the industrial school at South Evanston, Ill. The subject of this sketch came to this county with his parents, and in 1879 commenced his experience in the tobacco business. In 1884 he commenced the business of cigar making for himself, and is manufacturing a good quality of goods that find a ready market. He is one of the enterprising business men of the county; he has served as a member of the city council and as school director. Mr. Rudy was married in 1883 to Miss Ada Campbell, a native of Arkansas, and they have three children: Diva, Earl and Frank.
