John T. Connor, teacher at Neosho, was horn in Rockbridge County, Va., May 15, 1860, and is the son of Jacob Connor amid Sarah (Chapman) Connor, both natives of Virginia, and the parents of six children. John T,, the eldest in the family, was reared in Virginia receiving the rudiments of his education there and finishing at Vanderbilt University, at Nashville Tenn., he also attended school in Virginia and Kentucky. He came West, and held the position of principal of the Vinita public school, Indian Territory. In 1885 he came to Newton County, Mo., and has since devoted all his time to teaching. He has taught school very successfully for ten years, and is an able and efficient instructor. In 1886 he married Miss Sarah E. Harned, who was born in Buchanan County, Mo. Mr. Connor is a man of superior educational ability, and he and his wife are respected by all who know them.
