John H. Price, Jr., dealer in agricultural implements and mill machinery at Neosho, Mo., was born in Tennessee, December 1, 1837, and is a son of John H. Price, mention of whom is made in the sketch of Hon William I. Price. John H., Jr., was reared in his native State, and in 1853 came to Missouri. At the age of nineteen he embarked in mercantile business on his own responsibility, and has continued the same up to the present time. In 1878 he engaged in selling agricultural implements and mill machinery, and has secured a large patronage, not only in Missouri, but in Arkansas and the Indian Territory. During the administration of James Buchanan he held the office of postmaster of Neosho, and during his long residence in the county he has manifested a warm interest in its progress and welfare. May 30, 1861, Mr. Price married Nancy P. Townsend, of Barry County, Mo., where she was born in 1844, and they have following named children: Fannie (Mrs. Campbell), Laura (Mrs. Williams), Earl J., Malcom V., Jessie, Kate and Ernest.
