George Hudson, a prosperous farmer of Newton County, Mo., was born in Houston County, Tenn., April 4, 1854, and is a son of Christopher C. and Mary A. (Rogers) Hudson, who were born in Tennessee and Mississippi, respectively. The father was a farmer by occupation, and George’s boyhood days were spent in following the plow and attending school. He is one of nine children, and came with his parents to Newton County in 1868, where he grew to maturity. He has followed the occupation of farming through life, and has also given considerable attention to mining. His marriage occurred on the 18th of June, 1873, with Miss Delphina Holly, who was born in Atchison County, Mo. They have four children: Lulu, Bessie, Grace and Robert.
