Below is a family biography included in The History of Moniteau County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1889.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Owen B. Hudson, a farmer of Linn Township, Moniteau County, was born in the same county January 5, 1849. His parents were Hilliard and Eliza (Boggs) Hudson. Owen B. was reared on the farm, and attended the common schools until eleven years of age. Leaving school, he worked on the farm until twenty-two years old, when he went to Prairie Home Academy, in Cooper County, receiving sufficient education to enable him to teach, which profession he followed ten or twelve years in connection with farming. January 25, 1874, Mr. Hudson married Pauline Moore, who was born in Moniteau County in March, 1856. This union has been blessed with five children, three of whom survive, viz.: Hilliard, Alice and Grace. Mr. and Mrs. Hudson are devoted members of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, where Mr. Hudson fills the pulpit in the absence of a pastor. He is an active politician, and was in the convention that nominated ex-Gov. Marmaduke; he takes great interest in all public enterprises, and is one of the most energetic and prosperous men in the county. His political sympathies are with the Democratic party.
