A. L. THOMAS, attorney and counselor at law, was born in Grant county, Wisconsin, in 1844. His father, Thomas Thomas, was a native of Wales, and settled in Wisconsin in 1828, where he still lives. His mother, Elizabeth, nee Tanner, was also a native of Wales. He was reared and educated in Wisconsin, at the State University at Madison. He was admitted at Madison, Wisconsin, in 1808, and in 1869 began the practice of law in Carthage, Missouri, and has continued here since. In 1871 he was appointed circuit attorney by the Governor, and in 1874 elected prosecuting attorney of Jasper county, Missouri. Mr. Thomas is one of the finest orators of the Jasper county bar. He was married to Miss Laura Franklin, in 1875. Only one of their two children is living.
