Henry Milton Tugel, proprietor of the Beemont Mills, is the son of John and Permelia P. (Turner) Tugel. The father was born in Prussia, Germany, and when about fourteen years of age came to St. Louis County with his parents, and there resided for about five years. While there he married Miss Turner, and came to Franklin County about 1847, and here passed the remainder of his days, tilling the soil, being a well-to-do farmer. In 1873 Mr. Tugel married Miss Malissa E., daughter of John L. Cantley.
