Below is a family biography included in The History of Benton County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1889.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Judge Fred A. Kullmann was born in Prussia, May 28, 1842. He emigrated with his parents and two younger brothers to the States about 1853, and located in Benton County, Mo., about 1857, in the neighborhood where the Judge now resides. When the war broke out he enlisted in the Fifth Missouri State Militia, and afterward re-enlisted in the Thirteenth Missouri Cavalry Veteran Volunteers. He was married after the war to Miss Babetta Hasfurther, who was principally reared in Benton County. The Judge was elected assessor in November, 1882, which office he held until January 1, 1889. In the fall of 1888 he was elected associate judge, and is a member of the county court at present. To Judge Kullmann’s marriage have been born twelve children, of whom three died. The Judge belongs to the Lutheran Church.
