Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 1 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1885.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. DR. THOMAS E. WHITE was born in McCracken County, September 21, 1856, and is a son of Dr. Augustus White. He commenced the study of medicine under his father’s instruction, and afterward graduated from the Missouri Medical College, at St. Louis. Returning to McCracken County, he has since been engaged in the practice of his profession, having the respect and confidence of the community. He has a farm of 109 acres, and gives some attention also to farming pursuits. He married Mrs. Alice (Wilson) Hough, by whom he has one child, Lucille. Mrs. White has one child, Hunter, born to her former husband.
