These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. JAMES A. MILLER was born September 18, 1836, in Bath County, Ky. He is a son of A. A. and Susan (Berry)Miller. The father was born in Virginia, and died in 1865, aged sixty-seven; he has been engaged in the milling business most of his life. The mother died in 1874, aged seventy-two. At the age of eleven, James A. Miller commenced working in his father’s mill; this business he has since followed. In 1856 the family moved to Paducah; after his father’s death he took charge of the mill, which he operated until 1878, at which time he came to Clinton, and bought his present mills; the capacity of the grain-mill is about 100 bushels of wheat and 250 bushels of corn. The saw-mill has a capacity of about 10,000 feet of lumber a day.
