JACOB WHITE, editor of the Hickman County Times, was born in Fulton County, Ky., August 11, 1847, and educated in the country schools and at Clinton Seminary, Clinton, Ky. When about the age of eighteen he engaged in school teaching, which he continued several years, after which he commenced the study of law under the preceptorship of Judge Bradley. After several years’ study under this gentleman, he was admitted to the bar, and has since followed his chosen profession. He has been several years engaged in merchandising. White’s Opera House was built by him and Mr. Ashley in 1880. The Hickman County Times was established January 1, 1884, Mr. White being editor and proprietor; he is one of the stirring business men of the county.
