J. P. POLLOCK was born December 24, 1837, in Todd County, Ky. He is a son of John and Rebecca (McCauley) Pollock. The father was born in Todd County, and died in 1850, aged thirty-four years. The mother was born in Dickson County, Tenn.; she died in 1864, aged sixty-four. After the death of the father the family moved to Ballard County and engaged in farming. In 1866 our subject came to Columbus, where he has since resided. He holds the office of justice of the peace, now serving on his fourth term. He has also held the office of mayor of Columbus several terms. Mr. Pollock was married in 1860, to Margaret F. Richardson of Ballard County; this union has been blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters. He is a member of the K. of H., K. & L. of H., U. O. of the G. C. and member of the Baptist Church.
