Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 7 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1887.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Family biographies often include far more information than can be found in a census record or obituary.  Details will vary with each biography but will often include the date and place of birth, parent names including mothers' maiden name, name of wife including maiden name, her parents' names, name of children (including spouses if married), former places of residence, occupation details, military service, church and social organization affiliations, and more.  There are often ancestry details included that cannot be found in any other type of genealogical record.

ANSON S. BROWINSKI was born in Carrollton, Ky., January 14, 1857, the youngest of five sons of Micholai Wladyslaw and Mary Ann (Sarlls) Browinski, the latter a native of Hamilton County, Ohio. M. W. Browinski came from his native country, Poland, to the United States in 1834, located first in Illinois, but a few years later removed to Carrollton, Ky., engaged in merchandising, and was chief organizer of the first lodge of Odd Fellows in the town, in 1849, and died in 1863. A. S. Browinski was educated at Carrollton; he became a clerk on the fast line of boats between Louisville and Cincinnati, carrying the United States mail, and afterward was clerk for the commissioners of internal improvements, having in charge the work on the Kentucky River. In 1886 he united with John T. Fisher in the drug business, which had been established in 1879. Mr. Browinski is an Odd Fellow, has passed all the chairs, and is now secretary of his lodge.
