Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 7 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1887.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Family biographies often include far more information than can be found in a census record or obituary.  Details will vary with each biography but will often include the date and place of birth, parent names including mothers' maiden name, name of wife including maiden name, her parents' names, name of children (including spouses if married), former places of residence, occupation details, military service, church and social organization affiliations, and more.  There are often ancestry details included that cannot be found in any other type of genealogical record.

HENRY F. SCHULTZE, a native of Hanover, Germany, was born December 31, 1832, and is a son of Casper and Bernardino (Haarmeyer) Schultze, natives of Hanover, who came to the United States in 1836, and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1837. Casper Schultze was born in 1801, and in 1848 engaged in the grocery business in Covington, Ky., where he died in 1876. Henry F. Schultze was educated in the city schools of Covington, Ky., and from 1855 to 1860 engaged in the dry goods business, and then clerked for David Gibson, in Cincinnati, and was interested in a commission house. In 1864 he was engaged in the distillery business, owning the White Mill Distillery in Cincinnati, and was superintendent of the Miami Distillery at Hamilton, Ohio, from 1874 to 1877. In 1880 he was elected secretary of the German Mutual Fire Insurance Company, of which company Charles Mahlman was president. This company was organized in 1874, and has a State charter. In 1865 he married Margaret Ballman, of Covington, a native of Hanover, Germany, and six children have been born to them, viz.: Elenora, Mary, Kate, Margaret, Casper and Melchior. Mr. Schultze owns a wholesale liquor store at the corner of Eleventh and Russell Streets, and is a member of the Catholic Church.
