Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 7 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1887.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Family biographies often include far more information than can be found in a census record or obituary.  Details will vary with each biography but will often include the date and place of birth, parent names including mothers' maiden name, name of wife including maiden name, her parents' names, name of children (including spouses if married), former places of residence, occupation details, military service, church and social organization affiliations, and more.  There are often ancestry details included that cannot be found in any other type of genealogical record.

ALBERT PRICE, of Boone County, Ky. (deceased), was a large dealer in real estate, and at the time of his death owned over $500,000 worth of real estate in Chicago, and over 1,500 acres of the best land in Kentucky. He was born in Fayette County, Ky., March 14, 1822, and was a son of Williamson Price, an early settler of the State. Two Price brothers came to this country from England, and from one of these Albert Price descended, while the great Confederate general, Sterling Price, was a descendant of the other. Albert Price’s mother was Nancy Starks. Albert Price was brought to Boone County when young, by his parents, and lived with them until they died a few years later. He became a member of the Christian Church when quite small, and was a most active member, and so continued until his death, doing great and good work in that way; spent most of the years of his early life traveling, and made a trip to Cuba. March 12, 1844, he was united in marriage, with Frances Southers, a daughter of Ezekiel and Matilda (Yager) Southers, natives of Virginia, who were among the first settlers of Boone County, Ky. Albert Price received his education at Bethany College, Virginia. He was a prominent agriculturist or planter, and perhaps, one of the most extensive ones, in Boone County, and a large slave owner. To Mr. and Mrs. Price four children have been born — three sons and one daughter — viz.: William E., Andrew B., William A. and Ann M. Mrs. Frances Price was born in Boone County, Ky., July 20, 1827. Her father, Ezekial Southers, was born December 15, 1800, in Madison County, Va., and his wife, Matilda, was born November 6, 1806, in Campbell County, Ky. Albert Price died at Florence, Boone Co., Ky., October 13, 1874 He was a great and influential man in political affairs, as well as in other respects; his standing in every way was the best and highest.
