J. B. YEAGER, mining operator, of the firm of Yeager, Brown & McMillan, is a native of Dallas County, Mo., and was reared to the farming and stock-raising industry. In 1872, he went to Joplin, Mo., and engaged in mining there till 1878, when he came here and has very successfully carried it on here since. He married, in September, 1875, Miss Fannie Henderson, of Clay County, Mo. They have two little girls—Gertie and an infant. Mr. Yeager carries on two shafts in active operation, and raises about 3,000 pounds of lead and two tons of zinc ore a day, on what is known as the Zelligman Town lots. He is also interested extensively with the above firm in gold and silver mining in Colorado. He has lately sold his extensive farming interests here, and proposes to retire from that industry. He is an active member of the A. F. & A. M. Society here.
